Lucy Muchoki is the chief Executive Officer of Pan African Agribusiness and Agroindustry Consortium, PanAAC, a Pan African Private Sector organization created to support the African Agribusiness through enhanced productivity and competitiveness in the regional and Global market.

Lucy is also the coordinator of Kenya Agribusiness and Agroindustry Alliance, KAAA the national chapter of PanAAC and partner of Kenya National Chambers of Commerce-KNCCI and also KEPSA (Kenya Private Sector Alliance).

She’s a social scientist with a master degree in strategy and business management.

She is currently a member of the recently formed steering committee by African Union to support the organization of Regional Agribusiness platform for mobilizing and supporting the domestic private Sector in Africa through intra Africa trade, a subject that’s so dear to her heart.

She serves as a member of the delivery unit under the Ministry of industrialization, as the private sector representing Agroprocessing. It’s under this delivery unit, a number of investment opportunities are identified for attracting investment.

Beside this, she has been serving in various advisory councils and steering committee member for various Agribusiness leadership organizations both at regional and Global level. Her main agenda is to advocate for the inclusion and leadership of the domestic private sector as the driver of Agricultural development in Africa

She has served as the vice Chair of CAADP Non State actors continental taskforce and has been instrumental in developing the Agribusiness strategy for Africa through collaboration with African Union Commission (AUC) and Nepad planning and coordinating Agency (NPCA)

She has been the private sector representative for six years to the Executive Board of FARA-Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa, the Apex body for all research organizations in Africa, ASARECA-Association for strengthening Agricultural Research in East and Central Africa and Paepard- African European partnership programme on research development.

She is a member of the advisory council that was tasked with guiding the UNDP report on inclusive business model.

She has served as a member of Advisory council on to ‘scale programme’ funded by the Dutch Government .The ‘To Scale’ programme supports small holder farmers, in up scaling and out scaling best practices in Agribusiness for improved livelihoods.

Lucy is also serving as a member of the Advisory council of Sustainable Agriculture initiative, (SAI) an International food Industry network that supports sustainable Agriculture. She’s also a member of committee of food security, CFS, private sector mechanism.

She serves as a steering committee member of African Union Commission led initiative on Aflatoxin control programme for Africa, (PACA).The Aflatoxin Control programme is aimed at supporting small holder farmers and sme’s in post-harvest control management.

She is also a member of the steering committee of the rural infrastructure/ market access initiative both led by African Union Commission.

Lucy is also an accomplished entrepreneur and trades in horticultural products, Tea and Herbs. Notably, she was the first person to pack African herbs in Kenya and sell them to the local retail shops dominated by imported herbs. She’s the Chair of Great Lakes region private sector forum and recently appointed to the board member of Micro Small Enterprises Authority, MSEA, the only act of parliament authority under the Government that support the development of the below pyramid companies in Kenya. Under this institution, Lucy is the Director in charge of leading the Agribusiness Pillar,

 She’s very passionate about supporting the youth through mentorship. Together with other colleagues, she founded UniBRAIN-University, Business and Research in Agricultural innovation. A programme that saw more than six countries establish incubation centres in supporting the youth to start their own businesses.
