Samantha SEEWOOSURRUN MCIPR is an international public relations professional, working across corporate, financial and government communications, with her experience including work for the Government of Mauritius and the European Union.
She has been based in Mauritius since 2015, after working for some of the world’s leading agencies and international institutions. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and a Member of the CIPR International Committee and represents the Institute in Mauritius where she is setting up a network to promote training in the profession. She is also Chair of the PR & Communication Technical Committee of Global Finance Mauritius, the largest financial services trade association on the island.
She is the creator and co-founder of Platform Africa, a high level forum for discussion on Mauritius as a platform for Africa, covering entrepreneurship, finance, technology and energy, with readers from 45 countries, which also acts as a media partner for major African events. She is a strong supporter of women entrepreneurs and was recognized for Leadership Excellence at the Africa’s Woman Leaders Awards in 2017.
