SUPPORTING AFRICAN WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Women in Africa has set up an endowment fund to fulfill a Mission of General Interest for the promotion and transmission of education in the field of economic development, specifically in the training of future entrepreneurs.
In its first year, WIA Philanthropy will highlight, among public opinion and social and economic circles, the creation of laudable companies.
WIA Philanthropy 2017’s major moments
Launch of a call for applications to 400 institutions in Africa, in collaboration with the firm Roland Berger. The objective is to identify and select 30 laudable companies on clear benchmarks, with the help of an international jury.
Creation of a session on Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) on pre-opening of the Annual Summit to inspire the younger generation and the women who carry the project.
Conferences on the social and solidarity economy, open to the public, will be held prior to the Women in Africa Annual Summit.
WIA is looking for women carrying projects in the Social and Solidarity Economy in Morocco to participate in a Masterclass on leadership the same day. 5 of the selected candidates will also benefit from a free training with ESSEC business School from 12.2017.
At the WIA Club Annual Summit in September :
- 15 to 20 selected entrepreneurs to present their startup in a dedicated area: WIA Entrepreneurs’ Hub.
- Breakfast with young people and entrepreneurs to promote their experience-sharing and their vision of Africa’s future.
- 5 to 6 entrepreneurs will come to the stage at the WIA Revelations Party and gain international visibility.
