WIA Mentoring Program by Deloitte 2nd Edition

We are launching the second promotion of the WIA x Deloitte Mentoring Program for Women Leaders in Africa. This promotion aims to accompany 20 mentees and 20 mentors for eight months to build strong relationships and progress toward professional goals. The group will participate in a virtual Kick Off that will provide training in skills essential for successful mentoring relationships, networking opportunities, and knowledge exchange. Pairs will be accompanied throughout the program with a celebratory event at the upcoming WIA Summit.
Women In Africa and Deloitte have partnered to continue the mentoring program for women leaders in Africa in 2020. Launched at WIA’s 2019 annual summit through a call for applications, 15 mentees (exclusively women) and 15 mentors (women and men) were selected from more than 300 applications to form the first class of the WIA Mentoring Program by Deloitte, whose main objective is to develop women’s leadership in Africa and help each mentor and mentee achieve her professional goals. The entire inaugural group was invited to a Kick Off on October 22 and 23, 2019 in Paris to attend a customized training program created and facilitated by Deloitte and WIA. It was a memorable moment of exchange that allowed mentors and mentees to get to know each other, understand each other’s roles and receive the keys to a successful mentoring relationship. The Deloitte team supported the pairs by answering all their questions and organizing quarterly check-ins for an even more fulfilling mentoring relationship. The first class completed the formal program on June 25 and 26 with a virtual celebration and lively discussions on how to continue to support and expand programs like this one, led by WIA President Hasfat Abiola and Brice Chasles, Deloitte’s managing partner in Francophone Africa.
