Growing up in a small rural community, I often felt like the world was conspiring against me. Everywhere I looked, there were limitations: limited opportunities, limited resources, and limited expectations. But even as a young child, I knew that I was meant for something more. I was determined to prove that my environment did not define my path in life.
As I grew older, that determination only grew stronger. And it was fueled by a chance encounter with my now-business partner, Charles Umeh. One day, we were discussing our childhoods and the challenges we faced growing up in our rural communities. We realized that we had both watched loved ones pass away due to poor healthcare accessibility.

It was a pivotal moment for us. We knew that we had the skills and experience to make a difference, to help those who were in similar situations. So we decided to take action and start our own healthcare initiative, which we named Parker’s.And today, I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished. Since our operation in 2019, we have impacted the lives of over 15,000 underserved people, bringing healthcare to those who need it most.
To anyone who is currently facing challenges on their change maker journey, I would offer this advice: keep pushing and persevere.

Your JAMII Femmes adventure

Jamii femmes program through the Honoris universities leadership course has helped me immensely. I’ve been able to understand clearly what I wasn’t getting right, how it was me sometimes standing in my way as a result of poor clarity of what was expected of me both as a leader and entrepreneur.
I’ve been able to improve on where I was lagging and helped carry my team along better.

Finally, please give us a quote about your motivation, your vision of Africa or your personal ambitions

Africa is in our hands, and as young change makers advocating for Africa’s future, you’ll someday connect the dots of your impact and see the beautiful Africa you build.
