The first edition of WIA x Deloitte Mentoring Program was launched during 2019 annual summit through a call for applications: 15 mentees (exclusively women) and 15 mentors (women and men) were selected from more than 300 applicants to form the first cohort of Deloitte’s WIA Mentoring Program, whose main objective is to develop women’s leadership in Africa and help each mentor and mentee achieve their professional goals. The first cohort was run over nine months period were Deloitte team supported the pairs by answering all their questions and organizing quarterly check-ins for an even more fulfilling mentoring relationship.
The second edition of WIA x Deloitte Mentoring Program for Women Leaders in Africa was also a success despite unusual sanitary conditions and the sessions were held virtually covering a variety of topics. This edition covered a cohort of 52 individuals who were accompanied by the program team for nine months on a journey to build strong relationships and progress toward professional goals. The group participated in a virtual Kick Off event to provide training in essential skills for successful mentoring relationships and to provide opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange.
