I am a 24 years old lady, CEO at Keddie Botanics, a business that deals with extraction and processing of herbs to tea for consumption.
The business currently sells guava tea and in few months to come, we will start selling varieties of herbal tea such as chamomile tea, hibiscus tea and blended herbal tea such as zesty tulsi tea, cinammon-guava tea and chocolate-guava tea.
I hold a Bsc with honors in chemistry from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and I started the Keddie Botanics at the age of 23 because I was very passionate about plants and their health benefits. Immediately after college, I did a research on ‘ Antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of Psidium guajava leaf extract ‘ at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and it is under publication. Currently I am pursuing a Msc in Medicinal phytochemistry.

Your JAMII Femmes adventure

From the program, l have learnt on how to interact freely with people from different cultures, to network easily, to improve my entrepreneurship skills and communication skills.
I have opened a business website, l have joined WIA-deloitte program and l have reached to people explaining to them the benefits of my product.
Challenges faced are: Lack of good internet connection but the problem was solved.
I really enjoyed the program and am proud to be part of Jamii Femmes program.

We believe that, ” Once you mind your health, every activity flows “. That is the reason we encourage people to consume herbal tea since this is a great way of getting important nutrients, medical constituent body.
