Innovation Analyst - United Nations Foundation Next Generation Fellow on Gender Equality

Anita is a 24-year-old journalist and human rights activist who currently works as an Innovation Analyst at the United Nations Population Fund.
She is also a Next Generation Fellowship for the United Nations Foundation, leading the Gender Equality track, which focuses on promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls around the world. Additionally, Anita is a leading member of the Girl Upcoalition in South Africa and co-founder of the non-profit nkwenkwezinpo, which focuseson sustainable development goals related to education and gender equality.
Anita has spoken at various youth summits and international events, including the first-ever Summit for Democracy hosted by the President of the United States, where she emphasized the importance of positive civic engagement and youth participation in local elections to sustain local democracies and economies.
Her outstanding achievements reflect her passion for campaigning and research, including her work on several international campaigns such as USAID’s YouthLead project promoting female representation in peace building and contributing to a youth research paper with the APRM project. Her commitment to advancing human rights and sustainabledevelopment makes her an inspiring figure for youth leaders around the world.
