This year, in partnership with Société Générale, a historic partner of WIA in the WIA54 program, Women In Africa is proud to launch the “Responsible Entrepreneurs” contest to generate an even more significant impact in Africa.
A contest
The “Responsible Entrepreneurs” contest aims to reward African women entrepreneurs who, through their businesses, contribute significantly to social, economic, and environmental impact in their communities. This contest is a unique opportunity for women to showcase their commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
Focus on Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar and Sénégal
In this new phase of collaboration, Société Générale and WIA will focus specifically on Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, and Senegal. The main goal of this initiative is to support and promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) while developing dynamic local initiatives around female entrepreneurship.
The program
Training
The program aims to select and support four exceptional entrepreneurs through a competitive application process. The selected participants will benefit from an intensive six-month online training from June to December 2024. This training, designed in close collaboration with WIA, will cover several essential facets of entrepreneurship, equipping participants with the necessary skills for the development of their businesses.
Thanks to its vast network, Société Générale will offer networking opportunities at national, pan-African, and international levels, thus promoting the creation of a sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Mentorship and visibility
A personalized mentorship program will be set up, allowing entrepreneurs to receive advice from experienced professionals. In addition, a dedicated communication plan will be developed to promote the successes and initiatives of the participants through WIA’s media, including the website and social networks.
