Programme
This year, the Orange Foundation and Women in Africa join forces to launch a Digital Centre in Ngaparou. Since 2015, the Orange Foundation has been working to ensure equal access to the labour market, in Europe and Africa, with its Digital Centres programme. In Ngaparou, this support programme for professional integration and entrepreneurship will target young women with at least the baccalaureate who are not working or who have an entrepreneurial project by offering them training, mentoring and networking sessions with entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Goals
This support programme for professional integration and entrepreneurship programme aims to empower women and promote their digital inclusion through training. It is based on the supply of digital equipment, pedagogical content and learning support. The objective is to enable these young women to have all the keys to facilitate their professional integration but also to create their own business and carry out their projects.




The location
The Orange Foundation and WIA Digital Centre la maison Digitale de la Fondation Orange et Women In Africa is located in Ngaparou, a town in the region of Thiès in western Senegal. It is the Centre Guelewar of Ngaparou created by the Association pour le Développement par l’Environnement au Sénégal (A.D.E.S) (Association for Development through the Environment in Senegal) which hosts the activities of the Digital Centre. This centre has a library, a media library and cultural activities are also hosted in the multi-purpose room.

Events
Throughout the year, the life of Digital Centre is punctuated by events such as networking sessions with local entrepreneurs or afterworks with local business leaders.
Mentoring phase
On Saturday 23 July the launch of the Mentoring phase of the Maison Digitale took place. This was the second phase of the programme. The objective is to enable these young women to have all the keys to facilitate their professional integration but also to create their own business and carry out their projects.
The ceremony was presided over by Ms Seynabou Thiam of WIA who conducted during the meeting in the presence of mentors and beneficiaries:
- a presentation of the Maison Digitale programme
- the objectives of the mentoring phase
- phase management tools
