Michèle Lamarche is a Managing Director in the Sovereign Advisory Group at Lazard, Paris.
Michèle Lamarche joined Lazard in 1982. At Lazard, Michèle has mainly focused in advising governments of emerging countries, concentrating on Africa ((including Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Mauritania, Senegal, Togo, Nigeria, Congo, Angola, Mozambique, Zambia,), Middle East, notably Iraq, Oman and Bahrain.
She has advised governments in devising their macro-fiscal policies, obtaining/ defending or improving their international credit rating, designing their borrowing strategies including by accessing the international capital markets, assessing liquidity or solvency situations and devising and implementing debt liability management or restructuring strategies, finally identifying and promoting foreign direct investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Lazard, Michèle was a Vice President in the corporate department of Bank of America in Paris responsible for corporate and correspondent bank relationships
