
Marvel Gusona Nyama is a 24-year-old leader. She has launched a youth-led digital initiative to amplify the voices of African women and youth. This initiative enabled hundreds of African women to received digital skills training and mentorship. This project also provided scholarships to cover university tuition for young Cameroonians, who were hardly affected by the English-speaking crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marvel Gusona Nyama has worked with UNICEF through youth empowerment programs in Sudan. Prior to that, she volunteered with GreenPeace Africa and Amnesty International as a human rights activist. She is now a member of the European Union Youth Sounding Board for International Partnerships.
She was elected vice-president of the Commonwealth Student Union at her university, making her the first woman to hold this title. Marvel Gusona Nyama also received an award from the Women Economic Forum for her outstanding achievements in the development sector.
