I started my makeup business as a passion back in 2013 at the university and I did it freelance until 2020 when I started running my passion as a full-time business. My business name is LIKA HOUSE and we are a makeup business situated in Nairobi, Kenya where our main focus is training career and businesswomen on how to do their makeup correctly to suit their occasions and personalities in quick, easy steps both physically and virtually.

Your JAMII Femmes adventure

I really did not know what I would find considering this was my first self-paced online learning of its kind. However, the program really exceeded my expectations. Firstly, the platform was one of a kind. I could post and connect with other entrepreneurs as well as learn on-site. The courses were useful and very resourceful including quizzes to gauge my understanding. We also had zoom sessions that broke the monotony of self-study. The challenge for me was maybe when I couldn’t understand a certain topic and there was no teacher to explain it to me more clearly.

Finally, please give us a quote about your motivation, your vision of Africa or your personal ambitions

I believe that I can achieve anything that I set my mind to as long as I remain consistent, motivated and pushed by my why and keep on learning and working on my skills. Africa has great minds and skills and talents that can make us who we think we want to be and I believe it is time we embraced that and believed in ourselves even the more.
