Al Yusroh Computer Services was born out of the need for me to lay my hands on after we had to relocate as a family. Our new community was a developing one. So, I thought of something that we lacked but useful and ended up setting up my computer centre as the nearest one to us was around 10km away. The entrepreneur journey was not easy for me as the patronage was low. In a month, I could earn less than a thousand naira. At times, I will cry for lack of patronage as I needed to settle my personal bill. But one day, I came around an article that helped me on marketing, so I did started moving from schools to shops telling them about my computer training class and graphic design skill. And after this, things started changing. The JAMII Femmes programme improved my confidence and helped me build my entrepreneurial journey. Now, I have added two more courses to the courses I offer and my students have increased as well. I have also been able to update my graphics design skill.
Your JAMII Femmes adventure
I must say that I got more than what I expected. I have never been this confidence to talk about my business and persuade people to buy my products or patronize me for my services. Though, going through the course was tough as I had to go sleepless for some nights to finish them, but the lessons have really changed my thinking and opened my eyes. I now believe in opportunities only when one’s mind is ready and opened enough to see them. I believe in seeking for more knowledge and skills to build myself in any field or area I find myself. And empathy as a prerequisite for a successfull entrepreneurial journey. What of exploring new spaces? That is one that the programme has really helped me to do. I am currently working on a agency agreement with one of the telecommunications companies we have. The posts from colleagues from other fields in the WIA space have also been highly beneficial. Indeed, I cannot thank the JAMII Femmes family enough !
